The student will enter this course upon the evaluation of the instructor.

The student will learn how to tune and play the instrument, Tanpura.

The student will build endurance to play the Tanpura while singing for a period of 20 minutes.

On completion of the Third Year, the student will learn the notes of the Raags: Todi, Marva and Purvi.

The course will cover the Swarmalika and Bandish in each raag.

The student will learn Aalap, Alankaar and Taan in these Raags.

They will be introduced to the next four Taals: Rupak, Teevra, Jat Taal and Deepchandi.

By now, the student will be able to differentiate between the notes of the Ten Thaats (parent scales).

The student will be introduced to new styles of Semi-Classical music: Thumri, Dadra and Hori.

The student will learn two new Bhajans and one new Ghazal.

The student will continue to play the instruments: Harmonium and/or Keyboard.

Students will be provided notes on the Fourth Year theory of Hindustani Classical Music with explanation from the teacher.
